This very rare flower holder basket is woven by the famous weaver Datso La Lee (Louisa Keyser). The cylindrical basket is woven with three design bands of arrow feathers, around a glass jar to hold water for flowers. Accompanying the flower holder is the original certificate from the Emporium Company of Carson City, NV, registering the Flower Holder as LK82/1, dated June 1922. Additionally, the collection includes the hand print of Datso La Lee herself, with the matching 82/1 number marking. Abe Cohn's business card and a note card from the 1919 Exposition where Datso La Lee demonstrated her weaving. Added as well is a silver medallion, commemorating Datso La Lee, Queen of the Basket makers - the second of the Women of Nevada series by the Nevada State Museum. This polychome basket woven by famed Datso La Lee (Louisa Keyser 1829-1925) has an ovoid shape, decorated with columns of red diamonds, outlined in black, has a slightly domed lid with woven looped handle. The original label on the bottom is from the Emporium company, Carson City, NV, shows the number LK#62. Circa: 1918 Height: 14in. Diameter: 11 1/2in.

Designs on the basket sides are in three groups. Central white figures in the three groups on the basket sides represents the Eagle Creator of the Yokuts World. Surrounding the White Eagle is the border in redbud that forms another eagle. The space between the red eagles form still more eagles, leaving not a space on the basket sides not covered with eagles. This polychrome Paiute Yosemite Field Days basket is made of split sedge root (buff), dyed bracken root (black), split winter redbud shoots (reddish), and willow shoots (foundation). It is fine woven with 30 SPI and 7 CPI Circa: 1929 Diameter: 8 1/2in Height: 5in

This very nice Apache bowl basket is well-woven with twenty figures of men, dogs, deer and crosses covering the entire basket. A rattlesnake design is woven around the base of the basket. It is is good condition. Circa: 1915 Length: 13in width: 11in Height: 6in

This beautiful Butterfly basket was woven by Native Kawaiisu basket weaver Rosenita (Rosie) Marcus Hicks, circa 1910.
