Exquisite Polychrome Maidu basket by Selena Jackson

This wonderful basket is woven in designs in polychrome red and black. The bowl stands on its own as a regal symbol of beauty. One must realize that the makers of these fine baskets such as Selena Jackson(1874-1969) had much family help in gathering and preparing the basket materials. Selena is considered one of the finest among Maidu weavers.
